Someone taught me a true meaning of service last night.I was rushing back to the centre, carrying two big bags of foods.
There were a lot of people gathering in the centre. No one noticed my embarrassed except one person who came to me and asked: "Do you need my help to keep the foods in the fridge?" I was so grateful that someone was willing to help at the time I need it most, as I have been late to attend the training at downstairs.
I wasn't realized what I have been taught by him until I wake up early on next day morning. An intuition flashed through my mind suddenly, just like a sparkling lightning in a cloudy dark sky.
"A true meaning of SERVICE is to see people's NEEDS behind their SUFFERING. OFFER him what he needs at the TIME he needs it MOST, without any EXPECTATION of RETURN. This is what we called COMPASSION in Buddhism, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE in SPIRITUALITY development."
